Where does the FDA stand on CBD?

The FDA is responsible for protecting consumers’ health by creating and implementing regulations that ensure ingredient safety and efficacy. Because the FDA has not granted GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) status yet, it does not view CBD as a food/beverage ingredient nor as a dietary supplement. That said, there is no evidence that the FDA is currently forbidding CBD in foods. The FDA has sent warning letters to companies for products making false or inaccurate label claims (e.g., label says 50mg CBD, but only 5mg are found after testing). There have not been any cases of the FDA sending warning letters to food or beverage companies asking them to remove CBD from their products. The agency continues to evaluate CBD for ingestion in food and drug applications, and we fully support the FDA in this effort.

How is Isolate created, and how is it different from Full and Broad Spectrum?

The initial extract is a crude oil from dry plant material that includes all oil-soluble components including cannabinoids, terpenes, fats/oils, and chlorophyll. Suppliers distill the extract to get only pure CBD from the plant matter, referred to as isolate.
